I just can't get over this picture from last year!! Miss E was so teeny :) I remember putting her into this little pumpkin outfit, and watching her just snuggle right down in it. She's a snuggler, in case you didn't know! And then, because we couldn't pass up another cute costume, we changed her into a little flower...equally as precious, if you ask me! Ha!
Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Halloween. I don't love the creepy ghosts & ghouls, or watching scary movies. I saw Paranormal Activity last year around this time and I STILL have trouble walking to Elli's room across the house in the middle of the night! Chris will never live it down for dragging me to see that one! Now, a cute pumpkin or a sweet flower...I'll take it! But I just can't get excited about vampires, witches or goblins. I know, I know...I'm a party pooper!
What about you guys? Any cute costume ideas for your little ones that aren't too scary? I love hearing about the fun homemade ones that all of you crafty mama's can whip up! One year, I was a Gumball Machine for Halloween...looking back, I think my mom was pretty clever for coming up with that one! In an attempt to save a little bit of money, E isn't even getting a costume this year. But before you start feeling too sorry for her, I will be making her a black and orange tutu to go with her super cute "Daddy's Little Pumpkin" shirt :) See, I'm not too mean! TeeHee!
What was your favorite costume as a kid? And what will your little one be dressing up as this year?! I wish there was a way for you to post pictures, b/c I'd sure love to see some cute little dressed up babies!!

Me? My bunny costume!
She does have a costume...sounds like a little pumpkin fairy! My girls are Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella this year. I found the dress-up dresses on clearance after Christmas last year and have been saving them ever since. I probably won't sell these because they also serve as dress-up play. However, I usually do sell the costumes on eBay and by the next years on eBay as well. So, it's almost a wash money wise.
Okay Steph...MUST see a pic of that :)
And Danielle, great idea!! I'll have to look at ebay next year! And, by the way, I must be blog-dumb or something b/c I can't leave a comment on your blog for the life of me!!
Our mom's group is having a "fall festival" the day before Halloween and all the kids are getting dressed up so I'm currently looking into stuff for Audrey. Since Kyle and I did the Renn. Faire for a number of years and still have our costumes from that I am thinking I might just make her a costume too. The best part of that is that if add some extra fabric in the hem of the skirt she can wear it for a couple of years to come both for Halloween and if we go out to the Renn. Faire here.
Last year we just dressed her up in a Halloween onesie and left it at that.
I am right there with you Amy...don't like the whole scary party of Halloween. I can't remember any halloween costumes that I had except a clow - how original is that! But Cara was a giraffe when she was 1 that I thought was pretty cute. This year Cara is either Amelia Bedelia or a cat. She has both. She has to wear AB to school on Friday and she hasn't decided yet. Syd is going to be a butterfly wearing the tutu you gave her :) I also sell the costumes on ebay the following fall if they can't be used as dress up costumes. Matter of fact I bought many of their costumes on ebay. Look early like august and you can usually get one pretty cheap. I think I paid $9 for the giraffe one that was plush!
and that should be clown! not clow :)
When I was in school I always liked dressing up like a baby; I could wear pj's to school and I carried a bottle around with me that had soda in it.
I'm sure Jeff would be quite proud of his homemade costume in college, the mamogram machine. He took a box and cut two wholes right were his face would be when he put the box over his head. He wrote on the box "Free Mamograms!" I don't know how crazy I would have been for a guy like this in college? I would say that he has grown up but I don't think they ever really do.
Elynn doesn't have a costume; am I a bad mother? She has an outfit (on the blog), but I just thought all the costumes I found for her tiny body were too thick and bulky for the Vegas weather.
